• Female passenger was snapped wearing latex gloves on her feet
  • No explanation is given for why she has made this decision
  • Instagram users have mocked her baffling move

Flights welcome all sorts of passengers on board a plane – and sometimes they make very strange decisions during the journey. A photo has gone viral after being shared to Instagram, highlighting one woman’s disturbing move on a plane. The weird photo shows the female passenger apparently standing next to an aircraft toilet door. But the strangest thing about the image is her feet – she seems to be wearing latex gloves on each foot.

The effect of the disposable gloves is both grotesque and entertaining at the same time.

She has put her feet into the main ‘hand’ area of the gloves, leaving the thumb bit sticking out to the side.

This led some Instagram users to compare her feet to chickens due to the seeming extra appendage.

The fingers of the gloves also stuck out beyond her toes, weirdly elongating her feet.

Her dark nail polish on her toenails can be seen through the cloudy gloves and adds to the strange effect.

It’s unclear why the woman decided to put the gloves on her feet. What’s more, they don’t even appear to cover the full soles of her feet as her heels seem to be sticking out of the back.

If she had hoped to protect her feet while avoiding wearing shoes, then surely any protection is negated by her bare heels?

With no explanation apparent, the Instagram viewer is simply left to guess at the very unusual decision the woman has made.

Instagram users have shared their thoughts on the image, which was shared by Instagram account passengershaming.

“What the heck? I don’t want to know what’s happening,” one person commented.

“Yes… those are much more practical than shoes,” another posted sarcastically.

Some people offered their own tongue in cheek theories for the woman’s decision.

“Well…isn’t it obvs to everyone else??? She didn’t want to go through security with her bare feet and was running late for her flight so she didn’t have time to put her shoes on! Duh! (sic),” they wrote.

A minority understood what the woman had done. “Saves getting p**s in your tootsies,” one Instagram user posted.

Flight attendants have previously shared their foul experiences on US discussion site Reddit to encourage passengers not to walk around the cabin without any shoes.

One flight attendant who claims to have worked on long haul for six years cautions passengers about loo spills.

“Please do not ever walk into a toilet with bare feet,” they posted on a Reddit thread. “I promise you, nine times out of 10, that is not water on the floor.”

They added: “The toilets are often absolutely disgusting and get deep cleaned only at the end of a route. For us, this could be from one side of the world to the other… imagine how lovely they are at the end of a 12-hour flight with 200 people using them.”
