Yet another incident is causing long delays at the Dartford Crossing today (March 16).

A vehicle fire has closed two lanes on the M25 anticlockwise from junction 1a.

The car is on fire before approaching the tunnel and the left hand tunnel has been closed.

Traffic is queueing for miles and drivers are warned to approach with caution.

It is the third incident to affect the crossing today.

Overnight closures in the tunnel left drivers queuing this morning, while a crash caused tailbacks just hours later.

Strong winds have battered the county, leaving drivers fearful the QEII bridge could close at is did several times last week for safety reasons.

Highways England has revealed when it was likely to close the bridge due to the weather, but it currently remains open.
