If you have a job that involves a lot of traveling to different cities and countries, then you hopefully work for a company that has the means to send you with a business class airplane ticket! This is not a luxury that every man should take lightly, as you’ll definitely be the envy of everyone else sitting in economy class. You should be dressing the part to ensure that you belong in this area of the plane.
So, for when you’re relaxing in one of the best business class lounges or reclining in your comfy seat in the business class area of the plane, just be certain that you look like a million dollars. After all, you want everyone to know that you belong here!

A comfortable yet dapper suit
Even though you may have spent many hours sitting on a plane, you definitely don’t want to look disheveled when you meet your business partners for a meeting. Wearing a suit that’s wrinkle-resistant and has extra stretchy wool is important for traveling, but you don’t want to skimp on fashion. A top-quality suit should set you back at least $1,000, but if you check out some options here, you’ll find that there are other suits that are more affordable and still appropriate for traveling. Brands like Paul Smith, Hugo Boss, and Burberry are certainly in the upper end, while Topman, Zara, and J. Crew are in the more budget end.
Own a statement accessory
Most businessmen typically don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but there are a few areas where you can really dress to impress. Accessories like ties, pocket squares, cufflinks and spectacles should be premium brands and match well with your suit, but it’s in luxury watches where you get the biggest and best reaction.
Choosing a brand is pretty tough, as there are dozens of well-known and respected companies out there, but we’d go with TAG Heuer. The ‘Carrera’ and ‘Aquaracer’ models, in particular, stand out as a testament to Swiss design – bold, flawless, beautifully symmetric, and elegant. The difference to other Swiss companies like Rolex and Omega is hard to notice at first, but a slightly reduced price tag on Chrono24 and more of a contemporary feel gives TAG Heuer an edge in our opinion.
Get the right shoes
A nice leather briefcase is important for any businessman, as there’s no better way to carry your laptop and files. However, it’s a solid pair of leather shoes that will make you stand out in business class. Brown leather Brogues from the likes of Cheaney or Russell & Bromley are built to last, hugely comfortable, and stylish to the max. If that doesn’t sound like your thing, then a pair of black leather lace-up shoes like Oxfords or Derbies are perhaps more subtle, yet no less stylish. The brands mentioned previously will stock these as well.
Make sure you’re well-groomed
This is a business class flight on a respectable airline, not a Sunday afternoon relaxing on the couch watching TV! Your beard should be freshly shaved or at least cut close and well-shaped – try some beard oil to make it look even more presentable! Your hair should be worn in a bun if long, or styled with gel, mousse, or wax if worn short. A dash (not too much!) of your favorite cologne wouldn’t go amiss, as this is typically the finishing touch of a good businessman.
